What are the reasons that lead many couples to say these wonderful words in front of an audience of relatives and friends touched? What is pushing to get married in a society that now accepts cohabitation as a choice of two people who love each other?
The word "wedding", according to a common vision, comes from the Latin munus Matri, "task of the mother", or even matrem munere, "protect the mother." The etymology would indicate a direct relationship between the covenant of love of the two (man and woman in their original context) and the task of parenthood that flows from it. In any case, the use of the term in the nuptial union with the Roman law was developed in which body and gave recognition to all the situations related to social capital matrimonium.
The wedding, despite the profound changes we have in society, leading to abandonment of many conventions and traditions, still retains its power and charm.
Why?
The most obvious answer would be: "Why we love !"... but not only ...
Like a few other events of our lives, wedding is a sacred rite, whose deep symbolic meaning goes beyond reason and in which, despite everything, we have not stopped believing.
wedding is able to acknowledge and accept the rules aloud, say aloud the fateful yes, take unequivocal commitment to spend the rest of life with your loved one in front of people who held more: the before then the whole society. To do this you must have acquired a great sense of responsibility and awareness.
The Italian Constitution states, in Article 29 that "The Republic recognizes the rights of the family as a natural society founded on wedding ..."
wedding is a decision to start a family, and the family is and remains the only fixed point in a world in which I lost so many values, it is hard to find others to replace them.

Sposarsi: perché
"...accolgo te come mia/o sposa/o. Prometto di esserti fedele sempre, nella gioia e nel dolore, nella salute e nella malattia, e di amarti e onorarti tutti i giorni della mia vita"
Quali sono i motivi che portano moltissime coppie a pronunciare queste bellissime parole davanti ad una platea commossa di parenti ed amici? Cosa è che spinge a sposarsi, in una società che oggi accetta anche la convivenza come scelta consapevole di due persone che si amano?
La parola "matrimonio", secondo una visione diffusa, viene dal latino matri munus, "compito della madre", ovvero anche matrem munere, "proteggere la madre". L'etimologia indicherebbe una relazione diretta tra l'alleanza d'amore dei due (uomo e donna nel contesto originario) e il compito della maternità/paternità che da essa scaturisce. In ogni caso, l'utilizzo del termine con riferimento all'unione nuziale si sviluppò con il diritto romano nel quale si diede riconoscimento e corpo al complesso delle situazioni socio-patrimoniali legate al matrimonium.
Il matrimonio, nonostante i profondi cambiamenti che ci sono stati nella vita sociale, con il conseguente abbandono di molte convenzioni e tradizioni, mantiene ancora oggi la sua forza e il suo fascino.
Perchè?
La risposta più ovvia sarebbe: "Perchè ci amiamo!"... ma non solo...
Come pochi altri eventi della nostra vita, il matrimonio è un rito sacro, il cui profondo significato simbolico va al di là della ragione e nel quale, nonostante tutto, non abbiamo smesso di credere.
Il matrimonio è prendere coscienza e accettare ad alta voce delle regole, pronunciare ad alta voce il fatidico sì, prendere in maniera inequivocabile l'impegno di trascorrere il resto della vita accanto alla persona amata di fronte alle persone a cui si tiene di più: di fronte quindi a tutta la società. E per fare questo è necessario aver acquisito un grande senso di responsabilità e di consapevolezza.
La Costituzione Italiana sancisce, con l'Articolo 29, che "La Repubblica riconosce i diritti della famiglia come società naturale fondata sul matrimonio..."
Il matrimonio è quindi la decisione di fondare una famiglia, e la famiglia è e rimane l'unico punto fermo in un mondo in cui, persi tanti valori, si fa fatica a trovarne altri che li sostituiscano.
